OHL Takes Majority of Distribution Center

CHARLOTTE-The majority of a 639,000-square-foot distribution center in suburban Statesville has been leased to Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, according to Brentwood, TN-based ProVenture. The building is being vacated by comfort-furniture maker La-Z-Boy Inc., which has been there for the past five years.

The building's owner, New York City-based Lexington Realty Trust, signed a lease with OHL, also based in Brentwood, for 471,000 square feet or 74% of the building space. Jeb Atkinson with ProVenture's Logistics Practice Group represented OHL in lease negotiations, while Ted Haley of Charlotte-based Lincoln Harris negotiated for the landlord.

"This deal marks the first location for OHL's Contract Logistics division in the Charlotte area," Atkinson tells GlobeSt.com, adding that the company also has a global freight management and logistics division office locally. ProVenture, which has handled more than 10 million square feet of transactions for OHL over the past year, considered other sites in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions before deciding on the Statesville building.
